Why we use Discord
More connection. Less clutter.
Your neighbourhood, together in one place. Meet neighbours, follow the topics you care about, and keep local life out of a pile of separate group chats.
Why Discord works for community life
Your phone number stays yours
Other members do not automatically see your phone number. You take part with a display name you choose, and you decide what else to say about yourself.
A room for each kind of conversation
Building news, pet advice, a marketplace listing, and weekend plans each have a room. Useful information is easier to find than in one long chat.
Follow what you care about
Open the rooms you want. Discord lets you choose which ones notify you.
Room for a growing neighbourhood
The community can add buildings, interests, and activities without starting another app. Discord does have its own platform limits. The layout is built to stay inside them.
A guided welcome
Joining asks a short set of questions and then opens the rooms that match. Resident and owner rooms stay limited to the role you chose. That choice is a declaration. We do not collect an Ejari or a title deed.
Help across languages
Where a community has translation turned on, neighbours can read a conversation in another language. Translation is not switched on for every room.
Everything that makes a neighbourhood feel like home
- Neighbourhood news and resident chat
- Building and cluster rooms
- Families, parenting, and children’s activities
- Pets and pet owners
- Books, games, camping, art, and photography
- Gym, running, football, cricket, padel, and tennis
- Marketplace listings and local services
- Holidays and seasonal gatherings
- Nationality and cultural rooms
- Social media sharing
- Business and professional networking
- Property, rentals, and home discussions
- Home help and local hiring
Rooms vary by community. Some are limited to residents, owners, or a particular building.
Familiar community life, with less group juggling
Neighbourhood talk often spreads across WhatsApp groups and Facebook pages. Updates get repeated. A recommendation disappears into a busy chat. Finding the right group, and waiting to be added, takes time. A phone number is the usual ticket in.
These Discord communities use one layout:
- Topics have their own rooms, instead of one endless chat.
- A building conversation sits beside the wider neighbourhood.
- Older recommendations can be searched.
- You choose which rooms notify you.
- Joining does not hand your phone number to the rest of the group.
- There is no separate “accept me into this group” for every topic. The welcome sets your rooms.
Your neighbourhood is part of something bigger
Each neighbourhood has its own community and its own identity. This website links them, and each one has its own invite. The same Discord account can join another community.
Joining a second community does not open its resident or owner rooms. Each community keeps its own welcome and its own access. The automotive Collectives — motorcycles, off-road, and performance cars — are a different kind of community, with their own servers.
New to Discord?
You do not need to be a gamer. Discord runs on a phone and on a computer. Install it, open your community’s invite, and the welcome message walks you through the rest.
